Student Support
At Prince of Peace, students have all-day access to our school counselor and school nurse. They are surrounded by safety measures that are embedded by our faculty and reinforced by our School Resource Officers.
We believe that the educational experience depends on a partnership between the school and family. Parents are encouraged to contact classroom teachers, school administrators, and the school counselor when seeking to address the varied needs of individual children.

Instructional Support
Teachers, administrators, and our instructional support staff work together with families to address academic needs that arise throughout a student’s experience at Prince of Peace. Our instructional support staff combines observations, testing data, and input from teachers and families when creating a plan to address learning gaps or unique needs.
-
Any Prince of Peace student who has been diagnosed with a learning disability, medical disability, physical disability or psychological disability is eligible to receive POP approved accommodations, provided the following criteria are met:
Testing documentation is current (within the last three years) and the school has a copy of the full evaluation.
Diagnostic documentations must consist of testing and a written evaluation by a licensed psychologist or educational specialist. It must state the specific disability as diagnosed and provide a complete educational, developmental, and/or medical history.
Please note - A note from a doctor stating there is a learning difference is not sufficient documentation of a learning disability.
-
Accommodations provided will be individualized to the needs of each student in the program.
Accommodations available include but are not limited to:
Additional time to complete tests
Using a computer for tests or to take notes
Test questions read aloud
Note-taking assistance
Preferential seating in classes
Student Health Team
Prince of Peace has two registered nurses on staff, with at least one on campus every day. Nurses attend field trips and make sure that all faculty members are aware of individual student health needs. They coordinate faculty training for health emergencies and keep records of all health-related matters, including certifications and immunizations.
School Counselor
Our school counselor works with families to ensure that our students’ social and emotional needs are met. Elementary school classes learn about topics in social-emotional learning throughout the year. Middle schoolers may work with teachers to schedule a time to meet with the counselor if needed, as well.
