Core Curriculum

Our approach to learning is simple: encourage children to love learning and they will become lifelong learners. Teachers at Prince of Peace are continuously educating themselves to provide a curriculum that is challenging, yet engaging. Students are met where they are and given the tools necessary to become independent learners.

Preschool

Three- and four-year-old children attend an educational and fun program in a small Catholic environment that meets 3 to 5 days a week. The preschool curriculum is embedded with art, technology, music, Spanish, library science, STEM, and creative movement. Children are prepared for elementary school through a hands-on approach incorporating imaginative play while developing their social skills. Pre-reading and math skills are taught through games, centers, and individual instruction.

We believe children have an open heart and mind and can begin to understand the significance of faith in their lives at a very early age. Preschool is filled with stories, music, and experiences that help children express themselves and begin the process of building a life-long relationship with God as they grow into the people God has intended them to be.

Elementary

Elementary students are challenged with an integrated core curriculum that enhances the individual strengths and abilities of all children. Students are actively engaged in lessons guided by the latest research and are assessed on a regular basis.

Our school culture encourages all students to build a positive relationship with each other by emulating God's word through their thoughts and actions. Students in elementary grades have opportunities to learn new, effective ways to communicate with peers, teachers, and family members so they may grow in maturity and knowledge. By living as stewards of our school and church community, children build a love of God and a faithful, trusting relationship with the adults in their lives.

Middle School

The Middle School program is a robust and distinctive curriculum that challenges students to integrate personal talents with acquired skills in an environment that keeps children motivated to learn.

Our ultimate goal is to create enthusiastic graduates who are passionate, life-long learners, able to transition effortlessly into a successful high school career.

Throughout the year, middle school students become stewards of the community through a unique program called "House", which is filled with weekly competition and ongoing service projects. Students gather to plan and participate in awareness projects, and to support those less fortunate as part of the character-building program. The Middle School House Program is one of the most innovative and well-loved learning experiences your children will ever find.
